They race in the Max5 series – in fact Clive Bussey gets his 1.8L Mk3 mazda mx5 on to pole regularly and hits the podium too. That takes some doing, especially when the the majority of the mx5 mk3′s racing are 2.0L models, 1.8L mx5′s are cheaper, but the 2.0L prices have dropped hence their popularity in the max5 racing series.
They have a SUN RAM 3000 system – for two wheel drive cars – so you can get front wheel and rear wheel drive on the same rolling road/dyno system – stating the obvious.

Our visit to Autotronix Developments:
Getting there is pretty easy – via the M1 or M18 – they are not far from Rotherham
Parking up outside their garage was easy too – plenty of space for our van and car trailer.
They helped us off-load the mx5 and guided us on to the rolling road.
Once in position is was cup of tea time and custard creams – our favoutites – nice – good cuppa – too.
The car was checked over – tyre pressures set equal, oil and water levels checked.
All the dyno tuning cables were connected.
The mx5 was warmed up on tick-over for 5 minutes – just to get it ready for the initial power run.
Clive – got in to the mx5′s driving seat and gave her what for – then he pulled off the readings
Did the fine tuning bit – timing and all that good stuff
By the time we had finished she was pulling around what is expected for this 1.6 engine.

from: The North – coming from Leeds , Wakefield, Barnsley, Rotherham area
take M1 South past Sheffield – then take the M18 towards Doncaster – take the 1st exit J32 Thurcroft, then pick up the signs for Laughton En Le Morthen, they are on School road
From the South, coming from Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire, Chesterfield / Mansfield Worksop /Nottingham area
Take the M1 North to J31 – take the Worksop A57 road then pick up signs for Laughton En Le Morthen,
From the East, Pontefract, Hull,Scunthorpe etc – follow M62 West then down the M18 South ot J32.
From the West – you need to get across on to the M1 really – then J31 and the Worksop A57 again.
