BRSCC Mazda MX5 Trophy & Clubman Championships

The affordable way to go racing

The BRSCC Mazda MX-5 Championship really is the affordable way to go motor racing and is the perfect starting point for those coming into the sport for the first time. There is a plentiful supply of Mk1s ready to race but even if you want to build your own car, donor cars are readily available and cheap to buy and convert.

The Mazda MX-5 Championship is one of the most popular and best supported series in British Club Motorsport, with over 100 drivers registered for the year in previous seasons and an average of more than 50 cars per race weekend.

A promotion and relegation system allows drivers to race their way up and down the field, with the entry split in two groups to allow all drivers to compete in three races per weekend. The championship visits popular circuits such as Brands Hatch, Donington Park, Silverstone & Oulton Park bringing the series to racing fans up and down the country with some spectacular action.

All of the events will feature 20-minute qualifying sessions and 20-minute races throughout the season. The BRSCC Mazda MX-5 Championship will also feature a dedicated Race Centre at all championship rounds. This will be the focal point of the championship in the paddock and will enable all competitors and team owners a meeting point to socialise.

With tightly controlled regulations and few modifications allowed, the Mazda MX-5 Mk1 is a great entry route into Club Motorsport. The Mazda MX-5 has proven to be a very popular choice with competitors looking for affordable and competitive racing.

You can follow the season as it unfolds via the Championship’s website and Twitter account.
